project base and survey points
Project Base and Survey Points

  • They have TWO origin points!
survey point
Survey Point
  • The Survey Point is the coordinates in the World
  • It is “shared” by all buildings on the site
  • It defaults to 0,0,0
  • You CAN move it!
project base point
Project Base Point
  • The Project Base Point is the local“Internal” coordinates
  • It is used ONLY by the building
  • It should match the building form and layout
  • You CAN move it!
positioning tools
Positioning Tools
  • Mirror Project
  • Rotate Project North
  • Specify Coordinates at a Point
  • Report Shared Coordinates
single pair of files
Single Pair of Files

    • Create building geometry with convenient orientation to sheets
  • Link building to site
    • Link center to center
    • Move and/or Rotate the linked file
  • Establish the shared coordinates
    • Duplicate or Rename the shared Site
    • Save

    • Create building geometry with convenient orientation to sheets
  • Link building A to site
    • Link center to center
