  5. What is a domain name? • www.schoolsarecool.com

  6. How can the ending of a domain name help you determine if a Web site is credible? • .edu, .gov, and .org sites tend to have more control over who can add content • .com and .net have less regulation therefore need more scrutiny when being evaluated for crediblilty

  7. Name three factors that help you determine a Web site’s credibility: • Date—timely information is better • Author’s name—helps you determine if the writer is authoritative • Purpose—sites whose main purpose is to advertise are less credible than those whose purpose is to educate

  8. What is CHOMP? • C: Cross out small words, such as prepositions and conjunctions. • H: Highlight important information in the remaining text. • O: Put an oval around any words you don’t know. • M: Make notes based on highlighted information by abbreviating, drawing, and making bullets and lists. • P:  Put the notes in your own words.

  9. Name three ways that it can help you in the research process. • It can help you avoid unintentional plagiarism. • It helps you learn how to paraphrase. • It helps you synthesize important information.
