WHAT IS EARTHSHIELD AND LSX • A small, lightweight, robust, easy to install cable system offering mechanical and electrical protection through an earth metallic covering • A cost effective solution for many small power and lighting applications • 300/500V grade (Earthshield) or 600/1000V grade (LSX)

LSX - KEY FEATURES • Ease of installation • Lightweight – Typically 60% reduction on equivalent armoured cable or 30% on equivalent MICC cable • Small diameter – Typically 30% reduction on equivalent armoured cable • Improved current ratings – 90ºC insulation system • Earthing – Full size CPC automatically earths metallic screen

LSX – Ease of installation • Dressable construction offers a combination of rigidity and ease of bending, ideal for surface mounting or tray installation • Easy to strip and terminate without special tools • Easy to gland with metal or IP68 plastic glands (indoor or outdoor) • Suitable for indoor and outdoor installation (with suitable sheath colour) • Installed cost savings compared with armoured or MICC types

LSX – Exceptional fire performance • Low smoke emission BS EN 50268 (BS7622) • Low acid gas emission BS EN 50267-2-1(less than 0.5%) • (BS6425-1) • Low acidity of emissions BS EN 50267-2-3 (BS6425-2) • Flame retardant BS EN 50265-2-1 (BS4066-1) • Reduced flame propagation BS EN 50266-2-4 (BS4066-3)

LSX – Electrical Protection • Protection from accidental penetration by nails, screws and the like • Means of compliance with clause 522-06-06 of BS7671/IEE Wiring regulations • Independently tested by ERA Technology under nail penetration conditions • Recommendation for section, operation and installation of cables given in BS8436 should be followed
