  1. THE EVOLUTION OF HDPE COIL PIPES veekayplast.blogspot.com/2020/07/the-evolution-of-hdpe-coil-pipes.html The journey of HDPE coil pipes started in the early 1950s as a need for diminishing the costs. The chemists developed an economical process and delivered a new grade of polyethylene (a thermoplastic resin) called the High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). Thanks to them, creating various grades of polyethylene was possible, soon after that, the resin was used in various projects, wherever applicable. HDPE was used for the first time for the baby bottles. It replacing the glass bottles was the first application of HDPE for its improved physical properties. Like it did not break like glass, making it safe and also less expensive. After that, HDPE kept replacing glass bottles, drums, gas tanks, metals for pails, etc. Various applications also demanded and started to use HDPE such as packaging and pipeline component systems. History of HDPE in pipes Solid Wall HDPE pipe also started replacing the metal pipes in the late 1950s. By the start of the 1960s, the gas companies started to replace the earlier used failing iron pipes with polyethylene pipes (PE Pipes). Soon after that, 95% of all new gas distribution systems started installing PE pipes because of its successful performance history. Soon after, the ridged HDPE pipes replaced the clay pipings in agricultural drainage systems. The onset of the late 1980s saw the replacement of metal and concrete pipes in stormwater concerts with HDPE pipes. Since then, this thermoplastic polyethylene material has started to evolve into what is now, the third and fourth generation development, each with better and improved performance. You might be thinking what is so special about these pipings? These are the thermoplastic pipes that are energy-efficient during manufacturing and provide you with ultimate protection from contamination during service. All of this with the requirement of lesser energy for fabrication, transportation and also, installation as compared to the metal or concrete pipes. The HDPE coil pipe provide longer service and resistance from corrosion and protection from other climatic factors and that too at a handy price. Recognizing the practicality of HDPE coil pipes, these are being produce at greater volumes for various applications such as water-supplying and drainage, gas pipelines, and in the electricity sector in India as well. Knowing so, even the Government of India has decided to manage the supply-demand gap. This rapid increase in demand is directly proportional and therefore, is increasing the demand for resin. Leading pipe makers in India have increased and keep adding on the production capacity,This 1/2

  2. adds up in continuous development and up gradation in design and raw materials, says Veekayplast, a leading HDPE pipe manufacturing company. Being in this business from 1996, Veekayplast has been witnessing the demand for HDPE coil pipes in much more industrial applications such as disposing of corrosive effluent chemicals and treated or untreated wastewater, transportation of acid or alkali, etc. Due to this high demand, the industry will keep on with the continuous advancements as they have been for the last half-century and this sector will be growing for generations to come. 2/2
