  2. Results • Enhanced knowledge on labour issues and its impact on the world of work • Improved understanding on Micro-economic, Political and Social issues of our economy • Established standing crop of union activists with high facilitation and communication skills • Well educated trade unions

  3. Activities • Coordinate the training of from affiliates: • Resuscinate the Education and Training Committee to spearhead education • Encouraging the recruitment of Education Coordinators in all affiliates • Training of all Education Coordinators • Identify special education programmes to build capacity for workers to engage on broader economic. Political and social issues

Continues……….. • Review and design new education training materials on labour education • Secure funding and technical assistance for the development of education material • Develop training needs analysis and policy on education • Develop training materials for shop Stewards, Second and first layer leadership

  5. Continues……….. • Build organisational capacity using the “trainer of trainers” model: • Develop a blue-print that will guide the building of workers ideology in the labour movement • Train new local cadre of educators • Source for funding for leadership funding at all levels

  8. Cooperative Partners • Workers organisation that specialise in labour education in the country ( e.g. University of Botswana) • Individuals that specialise in Labour education • Other federations for Exchange of programmes( National, regional and International level)

  9. Roles and Responsibilities • Executive Committee of BFTU is accountable for the Education, Training and Research Development. • Education and Research committee is responsible for developing the Education and training programmes • Funding secured by EC

  10. Resources • Human Resources: • Individual specialists of Labour Education • National Educators and Research Coordinators • Trade Union organisers
