  1. Replacement of Transformers EMT103/76, EMT305/76 N. Latif 04/09/2019

  2. Main Points • EMT103/76 • Loads supplied by EBD1/76 • Possibility of Re-Powering • EMT305/76 • Loads supplied by ERD1/76 • Inspection Visit/VIC • Proposed Duration/Sequence of Works • Dismantling • Transport • Installation • Project Team • Co-activities/Risks Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  3. EMT103/76 Transformer will be ready for shipment on 25-09-19 Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  4. SLD: Loads supplied by EBD1/76 EMT103/76 supplies switchboard EBD1/76. Loads supplied from this switchboard are in UJ76, R76, RR73 andTZ76. Main loadsare lights, power sockets, monorail, repowering to some UPS/switchboards etc. Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  5. Possibility of re-powering EBD1/76 • Load on EBD1/76 = 95 A (average) • Load on ESD1/76 = 05 A (average) • Re-powering Link b/w EBD1/76 and ESD1/76 = 200A • All the loads can be re-supplied if load stays like this • If any user increases the load, then plan for load-shedding has to be defined. Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  6. EMT305/76 Transformer will be ready for shipment during week 44 Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  7. SLD: Loads supplied by ERD1/76 • EMT305/76 supplies switchboard ERD1/76. • This switchboard supply ERD1/73 (RR73) and ERD1/77 (RR77) • Load on ERD1/76 = 0 A • No re-powering available Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  8. Inspection Visit/VIC • Inspection Visit during EL maintenance Week (39) to have a look on LV/HV terminals and control connections • Participants: EN-EL-ENP, EN-EL-EIC, EN-EL-OP • Re-supplying the Loads of EBD1/76 from ESD1/76. (EN-EL-OP) • Electrical power lock-out of the transformer, then issue of work permits. (EN-EL-OP) • Removal of transformer casing front. (EN-EL-EIC) • Visual inspection of control cables, bar sheath, cable connection terminals, etc. No works planned. (EN-EL-EIC) • Re-installation of transformer envelope. (EN-EL-EIC) • Transformer energization. (EN-EL-OP) • VIC is planned in Week 37 on 12-09-2019 • Diagnostics of paint (for Lead) on 17-09-2019 Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  9. Duration/Sequence of works EMT103/76 Work Phase (Week 41, 07-10-2019 to 11-10-2019): • Participants: EN-EL-ENP, EN-EL-EIC, EN-EL-OP, EN-EL-MT, EN-HE, ARNOLD, COMSA. Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  10. Duration/Sequence of works EMT305/76 Work Phase (Week 47, 18-11-2019 to 2-11-2019): • Participants: EN-EL-ENP, EN-EL-EIC, EN-EL-OP, EN-EL-MT, EN-HE, ARNOLD, COMSA. Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  11. Dismantling • Re-supplying the Loads of EBD1/76 from ESD1/76. (EN-EL-OP) • Electrical power lock-out of the transformer, then issue of work permits. (EN-EL-OP) • Dismantling of boundary barriers. (COMSA) • Transformer envelope removal. (COMSA) • Disconnection of LV Bus Bars. (COMSA) • Disconnection of HV cables, if the cables are short, they will be replaced by new cables. (COMSA) • To be determined on the day of inspection, Week 39. • Disconnection of the control cables / Grounding cables. (COMSA) • HT chassis dismounting. (COMSA) • Dismantling of transformer from the support for transport (COMSA) Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  12. Transport • Existing Transfo: from the UJ76 to the surface of the LHC6. (EN-HE) • New Transformer: from LHC6 to UJ76 at same location. (EN-HE) • No problem of transport from UJ to arc and inside arc. Complete path until LHC6 surface to be confirmed by transport (EN-HE) Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  13. Transport (from UJ76 to arc) Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  14. Installation of new Transformer • Actions to be performed on the new transformer: • Extremities of HV cables (ARNOLD) • Connection of HV cables (ARNOLD) • Control circuit connection (COMSA) • Connection of the existing ground circuit (COMSA) • LV Bus bars connection (COMSA) • Transformer Envelope Reassembly (COMSA) • Installation of boundary barriers (COMSA) • HT cable test (EN-EL-EIC) • Transformer commissioning/Energization (EN-EL-EIC, EN-EL-OP)All the activities described will be carried out according to the operating mode of the contracting companies Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  15. Project Team Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  16. Co-activities • Co-activity with EL-FC if transport of transformer to be done from Pt. 8 • No co-activity foreseen in week 47for EMT305/76 Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC

  17. Risks • Electrical/Mechanical Risk • To ensure that workers are authorized for the electrical works they perform • Hot works: torch for retraction of sheaths for HV cables accessories • Fire extinguisher will be provided by contractor ARNOLD Replacemnet of Transformers, LHC
