Gender, Imperialism and International Development (S0923-20)

This module explores the intersections of gender, imperialism, and international development. Through interactive and participatory methods such as presentations, debates, case studies, and role plays, students will examine historical, discursive, quantitative, and political contexts of gender and imperialism. They will also explore different paradigms, including liberal, Marxist, neo-liberal, ecological, postmodernist, and rights-based approaches to gendered development. The module includes group presentations and a summative assessment consisting of a group PowerPoint presentation and an individual essay.
