  3. The Bible • It is an anchor because it is the word of God, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 • It tells us clearly about death…Hebrews 9:27 • It also tells us about life after the grave. John 14:1-3 • It is the only book that tells us how to really get to heaven… 1 Corinthians 15:1-3

  4. The Home • Genesis 2 & 3 tells us about the beginning of this relationship • Malachi 2:16 records how the people of God were removing all the godly restraints and eroding the foundation that God gave them as an anchor.

  5. Malachi 2:16; “For the Lord God of Israel says that He hates divorce, for it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the Lord of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.” Four Anchors To Help Us Weather The Storms Of Life

  6. The Home • Genesis 2 & 3 tells us about the beginning of this relationship • Malachi 2:16 records how the people of God were removing all the godly restraints and eroding the foundation that God gave them as an anchor. • The prodigal son of Luke 15…

  7. Prayer • Did you every stop to think what prayer really means, 1 Peter 5:7; “…casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” • God has given us an anchor. We need to know that we can talk to God, Hebrews 4:15-16

  8. Hebrews 4:14-16; “14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Four Anchors To Help Us Weather The Storms Of Life

The Church • 1 Corinthians 12:18; “But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.” • We are the components of that church. 1 Thess. 5:11-18; Ephesians 4:11-16 • Christ is referred to as the “bridegroom” (Luke 5:34-35) and the church as the “bride” (Revelation 21:9).
