  1. SICRIS(SlovenIan Current Research Information System)dr. Dejan Dinevski, IZUM

  2. SICRIS - basic information • The SICRIS information system is being developed by the Institute of Information Science under the authority of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport. • The databases (RESEARCH ORGANISATIONS, RESEARCHERS, PROJECTS) are linked and most of the data is presented in the Slovene and English. • In the databases structure EU recommendations for research monitoring (CERIF 2000), internationally-approved classification schemes (CERIF 91), and legal regulations in force in Slovenia have been considered.

  3. The data in SICRIS • Databases (Oct.2001): • Research projects(1945) • Research programs (334) • Research organisations (350) • Research groups (820) • Researchers (8440) • Financial data – details about public financing of the research projects. • SICRIS has a link to the COBISS system and its bibliographic database, which allows the users a direct insight into researchers' bibliographies. • ONLINE updating!

  4. DATA COLLECTION

  5. SICRIS application • Three – tier object oriented web application • User interface (HTML/web browser, ASP) • Bussiness logic • Database access • Microsoft IIS web server • SQL Server 7 database • Running on separate system • Stored procedures for flexibility and speed

  6. CERIF 2000 in SICRIS • Proposed implementation utilities were not used • General data structure (three main entities: org., res., proj.), data types and relations from CERIF 2000 were considered • Complete implementation of CERIF 2000 was not possible due to specific demands
