Enhancing Youth Sport Participation: A Vision for School and Community Engagement

The Youth Sport Trust, led by Clare James, aims to boost sporting opportunities for 5-16 year-olds. The objective is to increase the percentage of school children engaging in at least two hours of high-quality physical education and sport from 25% in 2002 to 75% by 2006, and to at least 85% by 2008. Key initiatives include the £100 million campaign, the establishment of the National School Sport Week, expansion of competitions, and increased coaching support. This comprehensive approach seeks to ensure every student accesses quality sports programs within and beyond the curriculum.
