DIIS • Who we are and what we do • established 2003 • independent research institution for international studies, financed primarily by the Danish state • research and analysis within the areas of globalisation, security and development • participate in national and international debates and academic networks • assess Denmark’s foreign and political situation and inform the Danish media, politicians and the public

DIIS • Who we are and what we do • approximately100 employees – research and support staff • variety of academic backgrounds(social studies, international development studies, military studies, anthropology...) • contribute to the education of researchers at home and in developing countries • practitioners from relevant ministries (seconded staff) • policy-relevant and policy-oriented research within and across our disciplines
