Getting the Cloud to Work for You The “cloud” is a metaphor for the internet Storing files and data in the cloud means you are uploading it to external servers, which can be accessed across any number of networked devices Cloud computing is running programs like word processors or reference managers over the internet rather than on your computer’s hard drive Cloud computing enables sharing by design
