Current Status • MapRoad (Desktop GIS) version 2.3.1 • PMS (Browser) version 2.0 • Implemented locally in local 22 authorities • PMS version 2.6 • Implemented as a centralised system in 11 local authorities • MapRoad Mobile APPs (Android) • PSCI for condition rating of urban/rural roads • Speed Limit Signs

  10. Road Grants • Grant Notification – usually in January. • Main Types: • Restoration Improvement Grant • Restoration Maintenance Grant • Discretionary Grant

Roads Programme • The allocation dictates what area/length of road can be strengthened / surface dressed. • There is never enough money and there are always too many roads, so roads have to be prioritised. • The PSCI (Pavement Surface Condition Index) is playing a greater role in this regard.

  16. Submissions to the Department • The following information has to be submitted to the Department, usually before the end of March, setting out details of the proposed Roads Programme: Form B Form DG-1 Form RM-1 RI Maps

  23. Pavement Management System (PMS) • In addition to these Forms and Maps, the Department requires that full records of all Restoration Improvement (RR, SO and SR), Restoration Maintenance (RS) and Discretionary projects be maintained on the MapRoad Pavement Management System.
