  1. How to run a CELTA course Izmir University of Economics CELTA July 2006

  2. First, you turn the tutorial team into fictional characters

  3. and you assemble a team of trustworth helpers

  4. Then you recruit a group of unsuspecting would-be teachers

  5. and some very cooperative volunteer students

  6. The trainees learn essential techniques, such as establishing rapport,

  7. setting up groupwork,

  8. monitoring unobtrusively,

  9. playing games

  10. and even a little phonology

  11. After a while,insanity sets in

  12. and people get very tired

  13. and say very silly things

  14. which you write on a whiteboard.

  15. Unfortunately there is no escape

  16. so you give the main tutor a cuddly kangaroo

  17. and look after the visiting assessor well

  18. so that in the end there is much joy and happiness.

  19. When it’s all over you go to a magic garden where everyone becomes intoxicated

  20. and chickens are made out of hand towels

  21. On the way home, and under the influence of alcohol, people turn into new fictional characters ready for life after CELTA and the next time.
