  9. Using Your Senses! (If you don’t want to end up like this cat,--listen!) • In order to tell if your car needs repairs, • use four of your five senses: • See • Smell • Hear • Touch

  10. Sight One of the most important of the senses is sight. One must use it accordingly: (This giraffe knows what’s up)

  11. Sight • When you are looking for a potential problem—look for these: *.) Dripping Liquids 1.) Yellowish Green, Pastel Blue, Fluorescent Orange 2.) Dark Brown or Black Oil 3.) Red Oil 4.) Clear Water

  12. Smell • There are several smells which you should always look out for: 1.) Burned Toast 2.) Rotten Eggs (He really likes eggs) 3.) Gasoline Vapors

  14. Sound • A few of the most notable sounds that should make you feel really uncomfortable are: 1.) Squeal – shrill, sharp noise 2.) Rumble – low-pitched rhythmic sound 3.) Screech – high-pitched, piercing metallic sound 4.) Clunk – random thumping sound

  15. Feel • Lastly, the way the car handles should indicate if there are any problems: • Steering • Difficulty keeping a straight line • Unintentionally steering to left or right • Brakes • Pulls to one side • Pedal sinks • Scraping or grinding

  16. Feel • Engine • Poor Acceleration • Excessive Oil Use • Engine Continues Running (Don’t let this tragedy happen to you!) (Drive Safe and be Alert!) • Transmission • Delayed or No Response • Slippage During Acceleration • Hard Shifts
