URETHRAL CANCER IS A RARE TYPE OF CANCER THAT STARTS IN THE URETHRA, THE TUBE THAT CARRIES URINE FROM THE BLADDER TO OUTSIDE THE BODY.
WHAT ARE SYMPTOMS OF URETHRAL CANCER • Blood in urine • Difficulty urinating or weak urine stream • Discharge from the urethra • Lump or swelling in penile • Enlarged lymph nodes in the groin
HOW URETHRAL CANCER IS DIAGNOSED • Urine Tests – Urine is tested for blood, infection, or cancer cells. • Imaging Tests – Ultrasound, CT, or MRI scan shows tumor size and spread. • Retrograde Urethrogram – X-ray with dye shows urethra blockages or abnormalities. • Cystoscopy – A camera tube checks the urethra and bladder from the inside. • Biopsy – A tissue sample is taken to confirm the cancer diagnosis.
