  1. Pastor/Teacher - Jim Rickard Tuesday, January 25, 2011 Grace Fellowship Church www.GraceDoctrine.org

  2. DoxologyPraise God, from whom all blessings flow;Praise Him, all creatures here below;Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.—Amen.

  3. Memory Verse2 Tim 2:4,“No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.”

  4. John 16:1-6The Importance of Preparedness.

  5. John 16:4The Importance of Recalling Bible Doctrine.

  6. Bible doctrine prepares the believer priest for any traumatic experience, including religious persecution and martyrdom.

  7. Jesus teaches us before the shock breaks out, so that we are fortified within our souls with B.D., to be sustained throughout the ordeal and be victorious.

  8. There is a great contrast between the ignorance of the religious crowd and the power of EPIGNOSIS doctrine (the Word of God resident within your soul).

  9. Bible Doctrine is the only power that can defeat the onslaught of Satan’s Cosmic System.

  10. The intended result of teaching God’s Word is for the disciple to apply it, especially in the time of trouble.

  11. “Their hour’ - Just as Jesus’ “hour” would certainly come, John 2:4, so would His enemies “hour” come. The former to save the world, the latter to destroy Christians.

  12. “May remember” – MENMONEUO, Present, Active, Subjunctive: “remember, keep in mind, think of, to call to mind or bearing in mind.”

  13. The intended result of teaching B.D. is for you to remember it to help in time of need.

  14. It is the volitional responsibility of the disciple to recall B.D. in times of trouble.

  15. John 16:4a,“To the contrary, these things I have spoken to you all, arefor the intended result that whenever their hour (persecutions) comes you all may remember them (Bible Doctrines), that I have spoken (categorically taught) to you all.”

  16. Principles:1. Jesus has given us enough information to have an erected ECS.

  17. 2. Out of memory and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, we build our ECS.

  18. 3. Knowledge of Bible doctrine is the only preparation, the only provision for adversity and for religious persecution.

  19. 4. Real pressure in your life demands the erection of the ECS, to combat its evil intentions.

  20. 5. The intention of the teaching of B.D. is that when the trials may come, they will not be a detriment to your faith.

  21. Rather, the doctrine will be an aid, especially since Christ has already anticipated your trials.

  22. 6. There are four stages involved in you building doctrine in your soul.

  23. a. Stage one, the Pastor teaches the mystery doctrine of the Church Age to a group of believers. This doctrine is called LOGOS or the Word of God.

  24. b. Stage two, the enabling power and ministry of the Holy Spirit teaches the believer’s human spirit, called the PNEUMA.

  25. The believer must be filled with the Spirit for the Holy Spirit to be able to teach the human spirit.

  26. Where there is positive volition, the Holy Spirit will turn that information into PNEUMATIKOS, which means spiritual phenomena understood.

  27. c. Stage three, PNEUMATIKOS is automatically transferred to the left lobe of the soul, the NOUS, where it becomes GNOSIS doctrine.

  28. In the left lobe of the soul, this information is academically understood - receptive comprehension.

  29. d. Stage four, GNOSIS doctrine is transferred from the left lobe to the right lobe or KARDIA of the soul where it becomes EPIGNOSIS doctrine.

  30. It is your faith perception that accepts the academically understood information as spiritual phenomena, converting it into EPIGNOSIS.

  31. 7. There are three R’s in the perception of Bible doctrine.a. Reception, stages 1-3.b. Retention, stage 4.c. Recall which is application to life. 1 Cor 2:4-16
