Electromagnetic Spectrum Kaitlynn N Lanter: 11/8/10 period 5
The spectrum • The electromagnetic spectrum is the distribution of electromagnetic radiation according to energy • Radio, Microwave, Infrared, Visible, Ultraviolet, X-rays, and Gamma rays are all part of the electromagnetic spectrum
Effects of electromagnetic Waves on humans • First and foremost, I must point out that visible light is a part of the spectrum without it we would all be blind! • Nowadays everyone without radio waves this would be impossible. • X-rays are another common electromagnetic wave. These enable us to see the human bones without cutting a person up. • Along with other types of electromagnetic waves, life would not be. Nothing would exist.
Transparency • allows light to pass through a material.
Translucency • only allows light to pass through a material diffusely
Absorption • All objects will absorb some light and reflect some light
