INFRASTRUCTURE SUMMIT RESOLUTIONS The Summit note progress made in the implementation of the 2008 Infrastructure Summit , and while it may take a great deal of time to realise its impact, the Summit re-affirm that those resolutions are still relevant and need to be incorporated into the 2010 Summit Resolutions, to be implemented in a coordinated , integrated and within the Infrastructure Plan of the province. • The Summit therefore direct, that the Infrastructure Cluster and the TWG should ensure that the Resolutions of the 2010 Infrastructure Summit and those of 2008 are comprehensively implemented.

  3. INFRASTRUCTURE SUMMIT RESOLUTIONS To prioritise ICT infrastructure development in supporting a competitive regionally and global economy. To inculcate and introduce a paradigm shift in infrastructure project preparation, packaging and funding. To harness and support the existing local available technical skill and materials in the implementation of projects with the view to enhance local participation.

INFRASTRUCTURE SUMMIT RESOLUTIONS To streamline and standardize the SCM processes in the procurements of Infrastructure projects, Ensure that labour Intensive construction methods are included in all project proposals, The PGPMP to prioritize 3 Growth points Municipalities: Lephalale, Greater Tubatse and Musina, To investigate the continued need to set up a PGPMP Implementation Steering Committee, that will also work with and coordinate the existing IDP Steering Committees,

INFRASTRUCTURE SUMMIT RESOLUTIONS All planning in provincial government to be informed by and to focus on a Local/District development node level, All plans of departments to be clearly mapped in terms of the SDF and located within IDP of municipalities, The Summit Resolutions to be addressed promoted by the TWG and introduced in the IDP, Multi Year planning and life Cycle budgeting for all planned projects to be rolled out in all departments, The Office of the Premier to strengthen its strategic coordinating role (i.e. TWG, Infrastructures Cluster and the proposed Project Development Fund), DPW to be assisted and actively supported to fulfil its Constitutional mandate.

  6. INFRASTRUCTURE SUMMIT RESOLUTIONS Explore funding from Limpopo Mining sector to contribute to the Project Preparation, Formalise the implementation of the Mining Regional Development Fund for infrastructure development purposes, Representatives of the Producers forum should become a member of the provincial ITWG, Project preparation capability to be established in the OTP

INFRASTRUCTURE SUMMIT RESOLUTIONS Reaffirm and undertake to support the ongoing process of development of Limpopo Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan, LIIMP: 2030 Expedite the construction and development of road infrastructure(N11, R37 and R33), Limpopo freight rail initiative and Water Sources (De Hoop, Mokolo and Nwamitwa) All departments and municipalities support the implementation of the implementation of the third phase of Infrastructure Development Improvement Programme, IDIP.

INFRASTRUCTURE SUMMIT RESOLUTIONS All infrastructure development should be aimed at support Limpopo Employment Growth and Development Plan, LEGDP – Infrastructure Development Cluster, IDC, to monitor and evaluate Contractor development through CIDP model should become standard clause in all infrastructure project TORs Focus of the ITWG to explore the expansion areas of the province and align infrastructure plans accordingly (linked infrastructure)

  9. All infrastructure designs should be underpinned by energy efficiency, water conservation and limited environmental impact All growth points must have water supply schemes, i.e. water source, treatment plant, pump station Recommend that the Infrastructure development Cluster develop an Integrated Water Infrastructure Master Plan to expedite water service delivery INFRASTRUCTURE SUMMIT RESOLUTIONS

  10. Infrastructure Coordination Unit in the Office of the Premier to review proposed water projects to establish the availability of other sources of funding to fast-track implementation These resolutions to be incorporated into the Programme of Action of Infrastructure Development Cluster of EXCO.
