  2. Behaviour Expectations • 6 Golden Expectations • Traffic Light systems • Golden certificates – teddy to take home • Lunchtime rewards- raffle tickets

  3. How to access teachers should you have a concern • Speak to your class teacher on the door • Send a note in with your child requesting an appointment • Arrange an appointment via the office • Parent’s Consultations 17th, 18th, 19th November 2014

  4. Curriculum Topics • What is Neil Armstrong famous for? • Who was famous when my mum and dad were little? • Where do leaves go in the Winter? • Why can’t a meerkat live in the North Pole? • Could my Grandparents travel faster than me? • Why is the wii more fun than Grandma and Grandad’s toys? • Enrichment Days (Festival of Light, CNY, Easter etc.)

  5. Weekly Guided Reading session during assembly time • Daily Phonics sessions (differentiated across the cohort) • Home reading books changed twice weekly (Monday/Thursday)- one level less for consolidation • (£5) • Literacy homework

  6. Number Fact Pack- Number bonds to 10/20 • Please see handout for all other objectives

  7. Nelson handwriting scheme • Formation/Orientation of letters/Finger spaces • Different Genres e.g. Narrative, Non-Fiction & Poetry • Emphasis on Speaking & Listening, Group Work and Drama • Emphasis on the Think-Say-Write-Read-Check strategy • Independent writing area • Daily Phonics (Workshop 23rd September)

  8. Weekly pieces of homework- Literacy/Numeracy • Set on Wednesday to be returned the following Monday • Reflects what the children have been learning • Presentation of homework should match standard of work completed in school • Homework will be acknowledged and not necessarily marked

  9. Blog access- check for dates, photographs, homework. • PE days are Wednesday and Thursday • Our designated Den day is Monday • Home/School book • Please take an Information Leaflet and an outline of the Numeracy objectives for the year.
