  2. PENCH NATIONAL PARK Pench National Park is located in the Madhya Pradesh districts of Chhindwara and Seoni (India). The Pench River, which runs through the National Park, inspired the name. The river divides the park into equal eastern and western halves—the well wooded areas of both districts—as it flows from north to south. The park is home to a variety of animal species, including wild guars, tigers, leopards, monkeys, and deer, among others. The park is located near Pauni on National Highway 7 and is only a short distance from Maharashtra and Nagpur. Turiya and Karmajhiri are two of the most well-known tourist entrance gates. HISTORY Pench National Park was established as a sanctuary in 1977, but it was elevated to National Park status in 1983. Later, in 1992, it was designated as the PenchTiger Reserve, which spans 758 square kilometres and includes the Pench National Park, which spans 292.85 square kilometres, and the Mowgli Pench Wildlife Sanctuary, which spans kilometres. Reserve Forests, Revenue Land, and Protected Forests make up a 346.73-square- kilometer buffer zone. 118.30 square Pench National Park has a long and illustrious history. The Ain-i-Akbari (Constitution of Akbar), a 16th century document written by Abu'l-Fazl ibn Mubarak (the Emperor Akbar's vizier) and recording the Emperor Akbar's administration empire, depicts its magnificence and natural wealth. Pench was the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling's popular novel "The Jungle Book." Above all, the BBC'Spy in the Jungle' third part special Tiger was also filmed in Pench National Park, and was based on the growth of four Tigers in Pench. VEGETATION Teak coexists with other species such as saja, bijiayasal, lendia, haldu, dhaora, salai, amla, and amaltas in the park's forest cover. A maze of grasses, plants, bushes, and saplings cover the ground. Bamboo can also be found in some places. Among the various shades of green, scattered white kulu trees, also known as 'ghost trees,' stand out. Mahua is another important tree in this area for both wildlife and tribal people. Mammals and birds eat the flowers of this tree, which are also harvested by tribal people for food and beer brewing. UPSC WITH NIKHIL - NAGPUR

Sambhar, chital, gaur, muntjac, langur, wild boar, and rhesus macaques are some of the prey species seen in the park. A herd of deer is a common sighting. There are over 170 bird species, including migratory birds such as peafowl, crow pheasant, junglefowl, red-vented bulbul, crimson-breasted barbet, magpie robin, lesser whistling teal, racket-tailed drongo, egret, pintail, shoveler, and herons. According to a study conducted in the year 1, the park is home to 25 tigers, 39 mammals, 13 reptiles, and three amphibians. In addition to mammals and other land-based flora and fauna, the park has a diverse bird population. 210 species of birds, including munias, barbets, minivets orioles, bulbul, waterfowls, wagtails, mynas, and blue kingfishers, were observed in this park, according to wildlife authorities.
