  1. What Are the Different Types of Bridges?

  2. AN OVERVIEW Undeniably, bridges are one of the most important components of a country’s infrastructure. Thus, it’s imperative to maintain them well. Bridges are the backbone of a nation’s economy. There are many countries that are known for its best transportation infrastructure. However, due to financial crisis, some countries failed in managing their infrastructure. Well, privatization is one of the best ways that can help countries solve infrastructure crisis. In fact, government of many countries is already using private bridge capital for solving infrastructure crisis. The investment depends on the type of bridge.

  3. Let’s Talk About The Different Types Of Bridges: • Beam Bridges • Truss Bridges • Cantilever bridges • Arch Bridges

  4. Beam Bridges This is one of the simplest types of bridges. The best example of bream bridges is a basic log bridge. The deck area of this bridge comprises of stone slabs and wood plank. This bridge is supported by beams.

  5. Truss Bridges This bridge is based on load-bearing structure. All truss bridges have triangular sections. These triangular elements absorb tension and compression to accommodate dynamic loads. Francis Scott Key Bridge is the biggest example of truss bridges. This bridge is located in Baltimore.

  6. Cantilever bridges At the time of designing this bridge was seen as a major engineering breakthrough. Cantilever are used in the bridge to accommodate traffic. These are made from structural steel. Cantilever bridges are extremely safe and secure.

  7. Arch Bridges Clearly, there are various types of arch bridges. However, all of them have central elements in common. Each Arch bridge has abutments. These are used to support the entire bridge structure. Arch bridges are simple but effective.
