  2. NICU Follow-up Clinic • Assessment and early treatment for infants at risk for developmental delay. •  1200 grams OR  30 weeks • Special Needs • Feeding problems, Breathing problems, Heart problems, Neurological problems, genetic disorders. • Twins, triplets GA  32 weeks • Seen at 3, 6, 12, 18, and 24 months corrected age.

  3. NICU Staff • Dietician • PT/OT • Speech Specialist • Developmental Specialist • Coordinator Nurse • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner • Neonatologist

  4. NICU Follow-up Duties • Learning to administer the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development-III. • Sanitizing all toys and materials used during testing after each administration. • Choosing handouts for parents to take home that provide skills the infant should work on.

  5. Reach Out and Read MISSION • Reach Out and Read (ROR) is a national non-profit organization that promotes early literacy by giving new books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud in pediatric exam rooms across the nation.

  6. Reach Out and Read Cont. • I help keep the book shelf properly stocked and organized. • I count and label all new books that are donated or purchased. • I keep the extra books organized by age level.

  7. NHRMC Developmental Specialist • Mission: to ensure proper developmental care, such as feeding and positioning is given to all infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). • I help to ensure that infants are positioned with the proper boundaries correctly by performing audits on random infants. • I also help to educate nursing staff on developmental issues by constructing PowerPoint and handouts.

  8. Community Based Rehabilitative Services (CBRS) • Mission: to help children grow cognitively • I help to provide social interaction with children who have scored low on cognitive testing. • We work on age appropriate skills for cognitive development.
