  2. Mis Hanes LGBT LGBT History Month

  3. Arwyr LGBT Heroes April Ashley MBE, a fu’n byw yn y Gelli am gyfnod, oedd y person cyntaf o Brydain i gael sylw yn y cyfryngau am fod yn drawsrywiol. Llwyddodd i ymdopi â’r sylw hwn gyda chymaint o ddewrder ac urddas, ac mae’n parhau i wneud hynny, gan ddangos mai bod yn chi eich hun sy’n bwysig, yn fwy na bod yn ddyn neu’n fenyw. April Ashley MBE, who lived in Hay-on-Wye for a time, was the first British person to be outed as being transsexual. She coped (and continues to cope) with media intrusion with such bravery and such glamour, demonstrating that more than being a man or being a woman, what matters most is being oneself.

  4. Arwyr LGBT Heroes Julien Macdonald - oherwydd er mai fe yw un o’r dylunwyr ffasiwn gorau yn y byd, ‘dyw e ddim wedi anghofio ei wreiddiau ym Merthyr. Julien Macdonald – because although he is now a world-class fashion designer, he has not forgotten his Merthyr roots

  6. Arwyr LGBT Heroes Mae Gareth Thomas yn ŵr y gall pawb yng Nghymru ei edmygu. Roedd yn arwr cenedlaethol ar y cae rygbi, ac mae wedi gweithio mor galed i chwalu'r rhwystrau sy'n wynebu pobl LGBT yn y byd chwaraeon ac yn ehangach. Mae ei stori'n dangos mor bell rydym wedi dod. Mae Gareth Thomas wedi dangos arweiniad, felly gobeithio y bydd dynion a merched LGBT eraill yn dilyn ei esiampl yn eu meysydd eu hunain. Gareth Thomas is someone that everyone in Wales can look up to. A hero on the rugby pitch for his nation and someone who has worked so hard to break down the barriers for LGBT people in sport and more widely, Gareth’s story shows how far we have come. Where Gareth Thomas has led, other LGBT men and women will hopefully follow in their own sports.

  7. Arwyr LGBT Heroes Y Seneddwraig Tammy Baldwin Cafodd Tammy ei hethol yn ddiweddar i gynrychioli Wisconsin a hi yw'r person hoyw agored cyntaf erioed i'w ethol i Senedd yr Unol Daleithiau. Methu wnaeth ymdrechion i ddefnyddio rhywioldeb Baldwin fel pwnc llosg yn ystod yr ymgyrch wrth i bleidleiswyr cymedrol droi yn erbyn y rhai a oedd yn ymosod arni ac enillodd y sedd gyda mwyafrif o 5.5% - canran uwch na'r disgwyl. Senator Tammy Baldwin. Tammy was recently elected in Wisconsin becoming the first ever openly gay person elected to the US Senate. Attempts to use Baldwin’s sexuality as a defining issue in the campaign by the Republicans backfired as moderate voters were turned off by negative attacks and she won by 5.5% - a larger than expected margin.

  9. Arwyr LGBT Heroes Boy George - Yn y 1980au, roedd y ffaith bod person mor amlwg a phoblogaidd yn hoyw yn ei gwneud yn gymaint haws dod allan. Diolch i ti George O'Dowd! Boy George - In the 1980s, having someone so prolific and popular made is so much easier to come out. Thank you George O’Dowd!

  10. Arwyr LGBT Heroes Jan Morris oherwydd mae’n awdur rhagorol ac yn eiriolydd dros Gymru   Jan Morris – because she is an outstanding writer and an advocate for Wales

  11. Mis Hanes LGBT LGBT History Month

  12. Arwyr LGBT Heroes Martina Navratilova – fy arwres yn y byd chwaraeon a fu ar y brig cyhyd ac sydd hefyd yn digwydd bod yn hoyw. Rwy’n dal yn ei charu hi. Martina Navratilova – my sporting hero who was at the top of her game for so long and also happened to be gay. I still love her.

  13. Arwyr LGBT Heroes Alan Turing, y mae ei gyfraniad at yr ymdrechion i ddatrys codau ym Mharc Bletchley yn ystod yr Ail Ryfel Byd, ac at ddatblygu cyfrifiaduron fel yr ydym yn eu hadnabod heddiw, dim ond yn awr yn cael ei werthfawrogi’n llawn. Cafodd ei drin yn ofnadwy gan yr awdurdodau ar y pryd am fod yn hoyw, ond mae Turing bellach yn cael ei gydnabod fel un o gewri mwyaf dylanwadol yr ugeinfed ganrif - arwr go iawn, yn fy marn i. Alan Turing, whose contribution to the code-breaking efforts of staff at Bletchley Park during the Second World War, and to the development of computing as we know it today, is only now being fully appreciated. Treated abominably by the authorities at the time for his homosexuality, Turing is finally being recognised as one of the most influential figures of the twentieth century – a genuine hero, in my book.

  15. Arwyr LGBT Heroes Harvey Milk – a dalodd y pris eithaf pan laddwyd ef ym 1978. Fel cynrychiolydd etholedig lleol yn San Francisco, gwnaeth safiad yn erbyn rhagfarn. Roedd yn ysbrydoliaeth a chaiff ei glodfori fel merthyr dros hawliau pobl hoyw. Dyfarnwyd Medal Rhyddid yr Arlywydd i Milk ar ôl ei farwolaeth a hynny gan yr Arlywydd Barack Obama ar 12 Awst  2009. Harvey Milk– who paid the ultimate price with his life in 1978. As a locally elected representative in San Francisco he stood up to prejudice. He was inspirational and has been acclaimed as a martyr for gay rights. Milk was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama on 12 August 2009.
