  1. What is the Difference Between GIF and Video? When you are in the video production services or are availing their services, you may have asked- what is a GIF and how is it different from a video? Well, we are here to tell you that exact difference! [Image Source: Google Image Search] GIF or Video: What is the difference? Well, the two of them work on the same principle and concept but differ in factors like application, quality, structure, and repetition. Let's look at the differences: 1. What are they? GIFs are essentially in the format of image files that become animated by using and adding other images and frames. A video, on the other hand, is more of a medium for the recording, displaying, broadcasting, and even copying the results of the medium. 2. Sound As GIFs are animated frames and images they do not support sound or any kind of audio. Videos have audio components that line up with the visual display of images. Videos can play

  2. any type of sound at any moment. 3. Features Due to the animated nature of a GIF, the compressed frames tend to loop, hence creating a repeating effect. That is why you will see that GIFs keep playing over and over again. Videos do not do this. Compared to GIFs, videos have a lot more features including frame rate, audio channels, pixel dimensions. These are the factors that video editing services deal with. With videos, you can fast forward, rewind, and replay them at will. This is not possible with GIFs. 4. Quality GIFs can support animation and transparency but are restricted to only 256 colors per frame. In other words, each frame of an animated GIF can support separate palettes of not more than 256 colors. This is what gives most GIFs that grainy, pixelated and low-quality look. Videos don't have restrictions like that. You can see an unlimited number of color palettes with videos. Since videos work with pixel dimensions and frame rates, you also have control over the quality of the display of the video. For example, on a platform YouTube, there is a 'quality' setting on each video. You can choose to watch it at 144p, 240p, 360p, 480p, and even 1080p. If you want to know how to create a video in high definition then get in touch with any video production company. 5. File size The file size of a GIF is larger than that of a video. Due to a GIF being not a video, but the compression of several images and frames, it significantly shoots up the size. The size of GIFs usually begins around 215 KB. A video, however, begins at a size of 155 KB. Due to the file sizes, the load times differ as well. GIFs, being the larger files take longer to load whereas videos load comparatively faster. Any video production company in Delhi will be able to give you both a GIF and video and tell you more about where and how you can use these media devices. The best part of it is that you can be as creative as you want!
