A strategy for Collaboration… Based on: the fact that experiences in one country can provide valuable lessons for other countries and that these lessons contain the seed for similar projects that can be redefined to fit other national contexts.

  17. What are the advantages of this Mechanism? Allows countries to express their actual priorities Encourages countries to identify and share experiences of success and failure, and learn from them

  18. What are the advantages of this Mechanism? All participating countries can simultaneously be the “sharer” and the “shared with.” Not only the country soliciting assistance receives a better understanding of the lessons learned, but the coordinating country is also able to reflect upon its own evolution process. By so doing, countries can incorporate the useful technique of self-assessment into their institutional functioning.

TEACHER EDUCATION Public polices on pre- service education, prefessional development and teacher evaluation 3. SECONDARY EDUCATION Youth, secondary education and certification of labor competencies

  22. SUBREGIONS IN THE AMERICAS THE HEMISPHERERIC PROJECTS Criteria for the development of Project Profiles • Starting with a continental assessment on each of the three thematic areas, identifying the challenges faced at a hemispheric, regional and national level and possible lines of action.

THE HEMISPHERIC PROJECTS Criteria for the development of the Project Profiles • Should include an analysis of the thematic area that may provide axplanation for the interdependence of the proposed actions, and hence moving beyond a “simple sum of smaller projects” • Should identify and analyse the different relevant existing experiencies detallando, and an understanding of how the Hemispheric Projects may take advantage of the accumulated knowledge.

THE HEMISPHERIC PROJECTS Criteria for the development of the Project Profiles • Create lines of action taking into consideration regional commitments (considering the inclusion of regional organization in the projects) and strengthening the multilateral approach by: • Sharing experiences • Preparing materials • Developing strategies for the professional development of all actors • Considering the use of ICTs to reach out for a greater public • That may be developed withing the Inter-American Committee on Education

TOWARDS THE III MEETING OF MINISTERS OF EDUCATION • Finalize the Project Concepts after being reviewed by the CENPES • Continue the dialogue through the virtual forum: http://www.oas.org/udse/3minesterial • Organize 3 Videoconferences with the Ministers of Education of the co-coordinating countries • Present the proposal to other international agencies • Include civil society organizations • Celebrate the First Meeting of the Inter-American Committee on Education
