  9. ABP Zone 3 Mission The Zone 3 SFAT synchronizes, coordinates, monitors, plans and makes recommendations on boarder security in order to limit the traffic of illegal personnel and items across the boarder.

ABP Zone #3 (Team 5) CDR’s Intent • Purpose: Build the capacity needed to enable the ABP Zone 3 to limit the illegal movement of equipment and personnel across the Pakistan and Afghanistan border. • Key Tasks: Positive, Professional, and Persistent each day to gain and maintain momentum across ABP Zone 3. Enable the ABP logistics system to be able to sustain operations and equipment free of coalition support. Assist ACP’s and BN Level ABP’s in conducting daily operations and building capabilities in their operations. Provide clear and accurate information regarding shortfalls in logistics, personnel, maintenance, and communications to all HQ’s both vertically and horizontally through both AF and US channels. Keep the pressure on! • Endstate: ABP Zone 3 is able to independently operate and capable of working through various challenges in order to facilitate an acceptable level of border security.

ABP Zone 3 SFAT CDR Focus Areas Build the Relationship • Show hands on leadership, lead by example • Genuinely care…they will know the difference • Must maintain positive atmospherics internally to the SFAT or externally positive mentorship is impossible. Grow the Capabilities • Positive, Professional Persistence on staff training and battle tracking • Make communications work • Push joint ABP/ANSF operations wherever Prepare to transition from partnership to advise to relationship
