ABP/RTL • Main RTL Activities for 2007/8:- • Shutdown Co-ordination and Planning for PSB, PS, LEIR, TT2, AD, SPS, TT40 & TI8 • CTF3 and CLEX installation • 3 MeV test stand installation • LHC Installation (Including TI2) • Preparation for LINAC4 construction • AB Consolidation project • TSO support for accelerators and service buildings ABP group meeting

Shutdown/Installation Co-ordination • 2006/7 Shutdown • 8 PS main magnets renovated & re-installed • Some MTE preparatory work was completed but the main MTE work will still take place in the 2007/8 shutdown • 76 SPS main magnet water manifolds repaired • INB cable loop installed at the SPS • Major tunnel repairs in TT2 • New beam stopper in BTP line • PSB main magnet water cooling renovation • CTF3 Combiner ring ejection line completed • CLEX building completed (June 07) ABP group meeting

  4. Shutdown/Installation Co-ordination • 2007/8 Shutdown (Minimum length = 12 weeks) • MTE installation • Essential for full CNGS beam operation • PS Main magnet renovation (8 units?) • SPS main magnet manifold repairs (80 planned) • Move 8 PSB wire scanners? • 3MeV test stand installation • CTF • Installation of CLEX equipment • Installation of the TL2 line (from the Combiner Ring to the CLEX) • LINAC4 • Choice of site • Technical coordination for the project ABP group meeting

  5. AB Consolidation • There are 44 active Work Units in 2007 • By the end of 2007 a total of 36.8 MCHF will/should have been spent (total budget at present is 50 MCHF ) • A full review of all outstanding Consolidation items has been completed:- • White Paper request for 27 MCHF & 70 FTE’s • Waiting for the “green light” • TSO’s for Accelerators and the Service Buildings • LHC activities • One RTL section member is detached (60%) to TS for the Coordination of LHC installation activities • TI2 installation and commissioning coordination • No decision on “How an LHC shutdown will be managed” ABP group meeting
