One outcome of this work has been the development of an integrated monitoring framework, the Holistic Ecosystem Health Indicator (HEHI), to assess and monitor the sustainability of the Diablo Trust’s collaboratively managed rangelands. The main objective of IMfoS is to develop a multi-party monitoring process that will involve stakeholders in the use of HEHI, “on the ground,” to test management effectiveness and measure progress toward the Diablo Trust’s goals of rangeland sustainability. A schematic diagram of the Holistic Ecosystem Health Indicator (HEHI) developed to monitor ecological and social sustainability of the Diablo Trust. This summer, the group, along with agency representatives and NAU and Prescott College students, will be in the field collecting monitoring data for the HEHI in the grasslands and forests of the Diablo Trust, about 40 miles southeast of Flagstaff. We need volunteers to help us in this exciting effort, so please come join us!! For more information about the project and volunteer opportunities, please contact: Tischa A.
