The Current Reality • No CLLS Funds for 2011/12 – Good News is the Law doesn’t go away -- $ could return • Not Just Literacy Suffering – No Library Funds – CLSA, TBR, PLF • Governor’s Proposed Budget for 2012/13 does not include any funds for libraries • Impact on Federal LSTA Funds • CLLS Survey Results – What’s the Prognosis for the rest of this year and next year?

More We Can Do Now . . • Resurrect the PR Campaign:TV/Radio Print • Viral Social Media Strategy • Volunteer Recruitment – find more volunteer position ideas at Get Involved Site: www.library.ca.gov/lds/getinvolved.html • Use VolunteerMatch More Effectively – Carla coaching, use photos, re-post, widget on website!!

Family Literacy Now Part of Adult Literacy • Not a separate program • Any of you can do it if follow program essentials • Must be adult learners/ caregivers of children 0 – 5 • They set at least one Family Goal in Roles and Goals • CLLS Formula will match on those funds (when money returns) • Webinar Soon on Family Literacy Delivery Options
