  2. Location Togo is located on Western Coast of Africa. Its capital city is Lome. With the geographic location of 6°7'N latitude and longitude 1°13'E.

  3. Main Exports • The main exports of Togo are Cocoa, phosphates, coffee, cotton. Coco is used to make chocolate. The main countries that these exports go to are Ghana, Benin, Mali and the Netherlands

  4. Main Imports Togo also imports fuel, energy, and food. It relies on as Italy, Germany, South Africa and China for these items.

  5. Once a Colony • Togo was once a colony of Germany. The people of Togo have benefited from a "Green Revolution" launched in 1977, which has made the country nearly self-sufficient in basic foods except in times of drought.

  6. Ethnic Groups • The main groups in Togo are the Ewe and related peoples as the Ouatchi, Fon, and Adja. They live in the south and constitute at least 40% of the population. Next in size are the Kabre.

  7. Borders • Togo borders a couple of countries. It borders on the Gulf of Guinea in the south, on Ghana in the west, on Burkina Faso in the north, and on Benin in the east.
