  1. Keeping Your Skin Safe On The Beach When Staying In Barbados Villas You have been wanting to stay in the beach villas in Barbados for years and the time has finally come. Your tickets have been booked and you are ready to pack your bag! No matter what location you are coming from we can assure you that you do not understand how hot it really can be in Barbados. Although the heat and warm weather are not a bad thing at all, you do need to prepare for being in the sun. Whether you are on the beach or sitting on the balcony of your beach villas, you need to be prepared for the sun on your skin. It is estimated that almost 90% of all skin aging is caused by the sun so it is important to keep our skin safe. Here are some tips to keep your skin safe when you are on the beach while staying in a Barbados villa. When you are on the beach in Barbados, make sure that you are wearing sunscreen. Although this can sound very obvious to “put on sunscreen”, it is imperative that you do have sunscreen on. Not wearing sunscreen at all times can result in the UV rays from the sun damaging your skin. Resulting in very bad sunburn. We all know how bad sunburn can be so we should avoid it at all costs. There are also a few unsaid rules about wearing sunscreen when you do. Even if you are at the villas on a cloudy day, you need to put on sunscreen. Just because we see clouds, doesn't mean that there are no UV rays that can affect your skin. If you are at the beach, and you are swimming, you need to be reapplying with your sunscreen every two hours or less. This time will decrease, the more active you are. We are mentioning sunscreen again because it is…as you guessed it, very important! There are a few factors you need to take into account when buying sunscreen for your beach holiday in Barbados. While packing for your villa's holiday, be cautious about finding old sunscreen in your bathroom cupboard. Be sure to check the expiry date. Although sunscreens do keep well for a

The first thing that you need to look for is whether or not the sunscreen covers a broad spectrum. When you are purchasing a broad-spectrum sunscreen, it usually covers both UVA and UVB rays. The next thing you need to look out for when looking for sunscreen is the SPF, otherwise known as the sun protection factor. When applying sunscreen, it needs to have a minimum SPF of 30. The SPF number is the amount of protection the sunscreen will be providing. While it might sound like a bit of an overkill, you should be avoiding the beach between certain times of the day, these times are between 10 am and 4 pm. These times are when the UV rays of the sun are the strongest. Although it might be disappointing to try and avoid the beach at this time, you will at least be able to enjoy your beautiful villa on the beach. There are a few other ways that you can prevent sun damage while enjoying yourself at the beach or in your beach villas. You can make sure that you stay in the shade where you can and wear clothing that will protect you from the sun.
