  2. Favorite Footwear for Men Turn over the pages of history and you will find the mention of clogs as a footwear favorite of men of the 70s. Clogs were worn by men as protective clothing for the feet since they could withstand sharp and heavy objects and concentrated acid solutions. During the world war, men clogs were used as combat gear since they were ruggedly built and could withstand difficult terrains. However, clogs went out of use soon after with the advent of leather and synthetic made shoes.

  3. Swedish-Styled Clogs After a long hiatus, they came back in the ’70s and were worn by men without socks as a fashion accessory. The Swedish-styled clogs became highly popular as they came in different styles and designs with a wooden sole. In the late ’90s and after that, clogs became a mainstay as fashionable footwear. New materials such as leather, suede, canvas, rubber and even wool began to be used in the making of clogs.
