Intel Core i7-3770K BX80667i73770K Processor - Quad Core, 8MB L3 Cache, 3.50GHz (3.90GHz Max Turbo), Socket H2 (LGA1155), 77W, Fan, Unlocked, Retail • Price: $329.99 • The Processor’s job is to process data so that it can send it to the various components of the computer. • The reason I chose this processor is because it has more than enough processing power for grandpa’s needs. He will probably never need to replace this processor because it is made by intel which has a reputation for making good equipment. • Some other options for processors are core i3, core i5, and AMD processors. There are dual core, three core, and quad core processors. Dual core being the slowest quad core the fastest.

  5. OCZ VTX4-25SAT3-256G Vertex 4 256GB Solid State Drive - 256GB, SATA III 6Gbp/s, Up to 120,000 Maximum IOPS, 2.5“ • Price: $199.99 • The hard drive is the place that all the data that you save to your computer goes. Its job is to save data for you to look at and/or use at whatever time. • I chose this hard drive because it has two-hundred and fifty-six gigabytes of space so it is just the right size for grandpa. • Hard drives come in all shapes and sizes. You can get some with as little as two gigabytes of space and as much as two terabytes of space.

  6. AOC e2251Swdn 22" Class Widescreen LED Backlit Monitor - 1920 x 1080, 16:9, 20000000:1 Dynamic, 60Hz, 5ms, DVI, VGA, Energy Star • Price: $124.99 • The monitor shows everything that you want to display. • I chose this monitor because it has a twenty-two inch display and because it is LED so it will make a nice clear image so the customer will be able to see with ease. • Monitors come in various sizes. You can get them from fifteen inches in size to over twenty-four inches in size.

  7. Price: $179.99 • The operating system’s job is to manage all the applications that a computer uses so that the application doesn’t need to know everything about the hardware in the computer. • I chose this operating system because it had the highest customer rating and because it was created by Windows which also has a reputation or making good products. • Some other options for operating systems are Microsoft Windows Home Premium and Windows Seven.

  8. Conclusion • These components are inexpensive yet capable of video chat, e-mail, web surfing etc. • Additionally, grandma will need a microphone and speakers for video chat.
