  4. What are Interactive Multimedia Projects? Projects where students are actively involved in the creation of a project that incorporates images, text, sound, motion, and interactivity for the purpose of sharing the information. Generally 2 or more media is combined together.

Solution:Time to Learn • Cohesive and coherent long term professional development plan with a focus on technology integration is key • Job-embedded professional development in the area of technology needs to happen. • When professional learning can only take place after regular school hours, not all teachers can be involved. • Professional Learning Communities and release time can be key in providing time to learn.

  11. Solution: Time to Plan • Content Experts & Technology Integrators working together can create highly engaging and content rich learning experiences for students • Using technology should be seen as tool in the teachers toolbox of skills not something that stands alone

  13. Solution:Continual Support • Access to “instructional technology support” as the teachers continue to use and work with students is key beyond a “how to do it” class. • This support needs to be flexible in nature and responsive to teachers’ need “just in time” support is important

  15. Solution: Change • The Principal needs to lead the charge for integrating technology in their building. • They must model effective use of technology when working with teachers • Teachers need to move to be being a “guide on the side”, a facilitator of learning

Solution: Keeping Up • Schools/Districts need to have a system in place in order to be able to evaluate software and hardware before making purchases. • Continual assessment of technology use and integration needs to happen in order to continue to move forward. • It’s not about what equipment or how much we have, it’s about how it is used.
