  10. The Alsol Program Due to the national context in favor for the renewable energy developments …. • Willingness of public authorities • Market size estimated at 13 millions of m2. Alsol as a first program, needs a direct financing support for the installation of 1000 solar water heaters for households and 1000 in the tertiary sector. Washington DC, February 17, 2009

The Alsol Program The objective of the project is to: • Promote the use of solar water heaters (SWH) to a large public, • Provide the adequate conditions for a sustainable thermal solar market, • Propose a financing mechanism (using loans with low interests and guarantee funds) which will make the SWH more affordable. The Alsol Program……. • Constitutes a first step and will serve as a basis to the next governmental project • Helps to put in place conditions for a market development (statutory environment, legislative, institutional and financial), the reinforcement of actors capacities, the start of an important communication campaign and the experimentation of a new financial mechanism. The Eco-Bat Program600 energy efficient houses The program consists of providing financial support and techniques needed to build 600 houses with internal optimal comfort and energy reductions related to heating and refrigeration. • Adopted strategically conception: 1- In winter: • Reducing thermal losses • Orientation and adequate conception of walls 2- In summer: • Control of sunny exposition through architectural conception • Use of natural techniques for refrigeration • Use of adequate materials (depending on climate) Washington DC, February 17, 2009
