  8. Multiplying Monomials… • Can be tricky if you don’t follow the rules over the next couple lessons. • A monomial is a number, variable, or product of numbers and variables. Which are monomials? • Monomials that are numbers are called constants

  9. Product of powers • To multiply two powers that have the same base, add the exponents • Example 3, 4

  10. Power of a Power • To find the power of a power, multiply the exponents • Example 5, 6

  11. Power of a Product • To find the power of a product, find the power of each factor and multiply • Example 7, 8
