Then write specific reasons and examples in your essay to support your description. Essay type(文章类型): Descriptive(描写文) Word limit(字数限制): 200~ 250words

  3. Vocabulary old-fashioned ['əuld'fæʃənd] 守旧的 dedicated ['dedi, keitid] 献身的 diligent ['dilidʒənt] 勤奋的 barely ['bɛəli] 几乎不 burger ['bə:gə] 各种夹饼 fry [frai] 油炸食物 even though=even if 即使 chore [tʃɔ:] 日常工作;琐事 set a good example 作出好榜样

  4. Model essay------ My Role Models Both my parents come from a hard-working, middle class family in a small town in the country. I would describe my parents with these words: old-fashioned, dedicated, and diligent. The first reason why I describe my parents as old-fashioned is because they don’t like western culture. For example, they don’t like western food or drinks, so we barely have them at home. They don’t like buying fast food, like burgers and fries, because they prefer to eat home-cooked meals. My parents are also dedicated, especially when it comes to us. My mother wakes up early in the morning to prepare breakfast. My father always spends time with us during weekends, even though we know he is a busy man. They are also diligent. My mom always helps us with our homework in the evening, even after she does all the household chores. My father is very hard working, too. Even if he’s not feeling well, he still goes to work. There are many good sides to being old-fashioned, dedicated, and diligent. I have never seen my parents being lazy and they have always set a good example for me and my sister.

  5. 词汇的变化 1.4 上下义词 我们平时生活中,叫某个人Mary,而同一个人,我们还会称呼她“the girl”或“the pupil”, 显然后两个是上义词,它们可以指Mary,Rose等所有上小学的女孩子。这种关系就是上下 义词的关系。用上义词the girl来指代Mary这个下义词,就可避免重复。 Red-light running has always been regarded as a minor wrong, and so it may be in individual instances. When the violation becomes habitual, widespread and incessant, however, a great deal more than a traffic management problem is involved. 这里的the violation就是指red-light running,它们通过上下义关系来避免第二次用red- light running。由于作为上义词的violation可以指“闯红灯”、“超速”、“酒后驾车”,因此不会产 生歧义。 Encourage your associates to hold a stake in the company. Offer discounted stock, and grant them stock for their retirement. It's the single best thing we ever did. Motivate your partners. Money and ownership alone aren't enough. Constantly, day by day, think of new and more interesting ways to motivate and challenge your partners. 同义词:offer--grant,encourage--motivate 上下义:offer discounted stock--ownership

  6. Supporting idea questions 1. How would you describe your parents? 2. Begin by making a list of adjectives that would describe them. Then tell us the specific reasons.
