REGISTRATION AND ASSIGNING PIN • Register by calling: 804-7055 • Access # is your employee ID # without leading zero’s (ex: 001234 = 1234) • Press * (Star Key) after entering ACCESS # • When prompted for PIN #, enter ACCESS # again and press the * (Star Key) • Complete registration instructions • Assign numerical PIN # of your choice when prompted

ACCESSING THE SMARTFIND SYSTEM • Phone Access: 804-7055 • Web Access : www.neisd.net Select link …..SmartFind Express Log in: Access # (Employee ID #) PIN # System is available 24 hours/7 days per week Use PIN recovery or “trouble signing in” option if you forget your PIN #; PIN # is e-mailed to your district e-mail address

CREATING ABSENCES • ½ or whole day: Morning end time: 11:59 am (verify am & pm) Afternoon start time: 12:05 pm • Record absence whether a substitute is needed or not • Substitute needed (ask admin./supervisor) • Reason for absence • Special instructions (ex: arrival time) or attach lesson plans • Job #

LOCAL SICK/STATE SICK/OTHER LOCAL SICK/STATE SICK: PERSONAL ILLNESS FAMILY ILLNESS (Immediate family) DEATH IN FAMILY (Allowed up to 10 days; refer to district policy) MATERNITY/ADOPTION/PARENTAL (Absences must be recorded in SmartFind for FMLA) OTHER: JURY DUTY/SUBPOENA (Must be issued a formal subpoena) MILITARY LEAVE

PERSONAL LEAVE PERSONAL BUSINESS – DEC (LOCAL) • Discretionary Leave – Must be approved in advance by your supervisor • No more than 3 consecutive days allowed at one time • Not allowed on the day before or after a school holiday • Request for an exception must be submitted in writing to immediate supervisor and the Superintendent or designee VACATION/NON-WORK DAYS (Only for those who qualify for this leave)

SCHOOL BUSINESS LEAVE Ask Principal’s Administrative Assistant or Bookkeeper for “type” of Staff Development Leave (see below) • Staff Development (Substitutes are District department funded) Staff Development assigned by Central Office departments, where pre-registration is entered into A-Train           • Staff Development (Substitutes are Campus funded)  In house Staff Development, or Principal assigned           • Staff Development (Substitutes are Campus Title I funded)  Assigned by Principal using Title I funds       • Campus Directed Activity (Substitutes are Campus funded)   Field trips, TAKS monitor, bus driver, school/teacher observation, etc.           • District Non-Athletic Activity (Substitutes may be Campus/District department funded)   Young Masters, Night Gallery, Fine Arts, ROTC, Band, Dance, etc.           • Athletic Activity (Substitutes are District department funded for Required Athletic events)

SUBSTITUTES • No substitute required • Specify a particular substitute or if prior arrangement is made with the substitute …enter substitute’s phone # • Substitute is called and assigned by SmartFind • Notify team leader (dept. head, supervisor, etc.) • Substitutes are called during weekdays (in advance) from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm . Weekends from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., as well as, day of assignment starting at 6:00 am
