  2. First days • Born in New York • Raskin was a teacher in UCSD (University of San Diego) • degree in music but, he was a professor of art, doing computer science, music • In 1967 he received his degree in computer science in Pennsylvania State University

  3. Apple Computers • Hired by Apple Computers in January 1978 • very basic responsibilities

  4. The Macintosh Program • 1979 they gave him a chance to make computers easy to use • PDA-like system

  5. Information Appliance • Left Apple in 1982 • Formed Information Appliance • SWYFT • Stand- alone laptop

  6. The Human Interface • His work ended in 2000 • The publication of his book The Human Interface • Raskin Center for Humane Interfaces (RCHI)

  7. RCHI • His final project The Humane Environment • Combines open source with a form of Zooming User Interface
