WHY? • Most people only know a few facts about animal extinction. • If people aren’t educated, nothing will happen to conserve animals. • Dull, uninspiring facts aren’t remembered. • Entertaining and competitive media become viral. • Media can be composed to be subjectively persuasive. • People must subscribe to helping a cause, and can not be forced.

ECOLOGICAL • A viral 3D interactive environment based in the web browser that will give persuasive but accurate facts regarding animal extinction and conservation. • Built in webGL. • Introductory videos – Simon Sinek. • Containing 3D objects, video, images, sound and infographics. • Educational but not forceful or pestering. • Competitive, Facebook style quiz. • Integrated social networking, broadcasting and invitations.

DESIGN • Research is split between three mediums: • Infographics. • Globe graphics. • Conservation websites. • Charities use inviting colours and many animal graphics. • The most interesting globes use surreal graphics. • Infographics show information in visual and text form to be more appealing.

  9. ACQUIRING MEDIA • 30 charities were contacted. • 10 have currently replied. • 5 give permission to use photos, video and text. • 5 ask to be contacted with more detailed requests. • Google 3D Warehouse.
