Baba Fareed With the competition and challenges increasing it is time to practice the proven strategy to help you crack the reasoning as well as Quant section in SBI PO and Clerk exam. Exam pattern: Before starting with the preparation it is essential to know the pattern of the SBI PO and Clerk prelims exam. This will help you prepare well for both the topics. Strategy to crack reasoning for SBI PO and Clerk exams: Preparing for reasoning is very important as it is a high scoring subject. These questions help the candidate to score the required marks above the cut off. The most important chapters in reasoning are 1.Arrangement and pattern 2.Syllogisms 3.Inequalities 4.Coding and decoding The scoring chapters are analogy, classification, blood relations, ordering and ranking, series, and directions and distances. To Get best SBI clerk result in reasoning follow these steps: 1.Arrangement and pattern: Try solving maximum question papers. At least 10 sets of number arrangements, mixed sequences and random alphabet sequences should be solved. In the number arrangement the questions are mainly directed based on groups of numbers or a series of numbers. Random alphabet sequences involve words instead of numbers. Use the dictionary and practice at least 20 to 25 questions daily. 2.Coding and decoding: The most scoring topic among the reasoning section is coding and decoding. It appears as a comprehension of 5 questions in the exam. Coding and decoding is not time consuming. Try practicing and attempt at least 10 sets each of questions on coding of

It could be mathematical inequalities or the coded inequalities. The simpler ones to solve are the mathematical inequalities. The coded inequalities are the scoring ones which will yield 5 marks. Practice at least 5 sets every week till the date of the exam. 4.Syllogism: In this section 5 questions will be asked. This topic requires hard effort and clarity of all the concepts as it is tricky. Minimum of 50 questions should be focussed with attention to questions with 2 statements and 2 conclusion types. Solve the questions with negative conclusions, possibility cases also. Strategy to crack quant for SBI PO and Clerk exams: To crack or get best marks in SBI quant in SBI bank exams it is necessary to solve familiar and short questions first and use SBI Clerk Mock Test. Use maximum formulas and solve the questions as quant is generally time consuming. The most important topics in quant for SBI Bank exams are: 1.Simplification: 30 to 40% of quant questions appear from this topic. This is an easy section. Practice quick calculations and learn some tricks and short cuts. 2.Data interpretation: Practice one set of questions on various topics in data interpretation. The important topics are average, percentage, and ratio and proportion. 3.Number series: Solve as many questions as possible from this section. At least 300 questions should be solved. This will help you in gaining confidence and will ease the level of solving questions. Around 60 to 70% of the questions in quant appear from this section. These chapters are the ones from where the questions are frequently asked. Divide these chapters as tricky and scoring and practice them. The scoring chapters are profit and loss, averages, interest, ratio and proportions, and percentages. About 4 to 5 questions from these topics will be asked and are generally easy. These require solving many mock papers to manage time and to develop speed. The tricky chapters need good preparation and about 5 to 6 questions appear in the exam. The tricky topics are algebra, mensuration, mixture problems, speed, time and distance, time and work. Practice these topics on a daily basis as tie is fast approaching. Quant and reasoning are both scoring and easy sections to solve in SBI PO and Clerk Prelims exam. Devout time daily and practice them by learning short cuts and tricks. This strategy will help you score marks above the sectional cut off.
