  4. Using the Word of God “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that all God’s people may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” - 2Tim 3:16-17

  5. The Word of God is MEANT to be Used • Personal transformation and impacting the lives of others • Inward and outward focuses • More tool than artwork • Divides • Supports • Illuminates • Waters • Teaching • Rebuking • Correcting • Training in Righteousness • Equipping

  6. Teaching – Titus 1:9 • Useful • Orthodox Doctrine • Importance/worth knowing • Content to teach others • Discern Teaching that is not sound • Doctrines of man • Demonic • Self-pleasing

  7. Rebuking – Galatians 6:1-2 • Imparts a warning • Counters rationalization • Provide evidence • Not an indication of intensity • Yelling/harsh words • Unpleasant experience • Showing reality • Scripture not opinion • Respond with humility

  8. Correcting – Romans 12:21 • Rebuking shows you proof of your error • Correction gets you back on track • Dual activity of rebuking an correcting • Transforms into likeness of Jesus • Do not rebuke unless you plan to correct
