  2. Who is Camp Trillium? • Camp Trillium is an organization that provides recreational programs for children living with cancer and their families in the province of Ontario. We began in 1984 in London, Ontario. • We operate 54 programs year round including residential and family camps, day camps, youth groups, trillium in the community matches, in-clinic programs. Our programs run in ten communities and operate out of five pediatric oncology clinics. • Every child diagnosed with cancer has the opportunity to participate in our programs at no cost. 3,100 children and family members participate annually making Camp Trillium the largest provider of recreational programs for children with cancer in Canada.

  9. Why are Volunteers Important? • there is no cost to campers, so volunteers are great! • Volunteers make up a HUGE part of the Camp Trillium Team • The more volunteers we have, • the more kids can come to camp!!!

What do YOU get out of volunteering at Camp Trillium? • Have a positive impact on the life of someone • dealing with childhood cancer • Connect with other like-minded people who want to make a difference • Use your skills and develop new ones • Experience personal growth and development • Camp Trillium happily provides references for their volunteers • You will have an amazing time!

  13. Garratt’s Island Where: near Belleville FUN TIMES!!!!!

  14. Year Round- Weekends Commitment: Friday(5:30pm) to Sunday afternoon(2:00pm) What: Family, Teen and Kids camps Where: Rainbow Lake Role: Special Friend

  15. Year Round- Youth groups Commitment- one Sunday afternoon a month Program for- kids aged 8-15 Where- a place in community (different cities) What- crafts and games, outings (e.g. bowling)

  16. Year Round- Clinic Commitment: one morning per week for one semester Program for: kids who are visiting clinic Where: London, Hamilton, Ottawa Role: playing games, arts & crafts, telling parents about Trillium HAVING FUN!

  17. Summer- Res Camp Commitment: 8 or 12 days Program for: kids aged 8-15 Where: Rainbow Lake or Garratt’s Island Role: Group leader & Special Friend Activities: swimming, canoeing, arts & crafts, drama etc.)

  18. Summer- Family Camp Commitment: 6 or 7 days Program for: Parents and kids of all ages Where: Rainbow Lake or Garratt’s Island Role: Matched with a family as a Special Friend.

  19. Summer- Day Camp Length: 5 week days 8:30am- 4:00 pm Program for: Kids aged 4-7 Where: Different cities across Ontario (usually in a park) Role: Matched with 2-3 children as a Special Friend
