Provide a copy of source & reference appropriately

EACH reflective journal entry needs to address the following:

A PERSONAL RESPONSE reflects/ponders/deliberates/contemplates/debates an issue

slide7

Discuss WHY you selected this source? What attracted you to it?

  • Discuss the ways your choice in each category relates to your SOCIAL JUSTICE TOPIC
  • What does the injustice look like to you? Feel like to you?
  • Discuss, in detail, specific aspects of the example you have chosen.
  • For example:
  • If you were discussing a newspaper article, you would respond to the key points and link them to your perspective of the topic you have chosen.
  • If you were responding to a painting or a photo, you would discuss the use of colour, shapes, symbols and how it provides a representation for your Social Justice topic
  • DO NOT simply ‘summarise’ the source in your own words. The key is to use it as a prompt for your refection.
  • The language should be ‘personal’ given that it is a reflection. You need to really think deeply about what your response to the issue is.
