  1. GROUND BASED OBSERVATIONS of the targets in the SEISMO field Ennio Poretti – INAF-OAB

  2. ESO LARGE PROGRAMME LP 178.D-0361 First run : January 1-10, 2007 Monica Rainer January 24-28, 2007 Katrien Uytterhoeven IR 01 target : HD 50844 Delta Sct variable 231 spectra HD 50747 Triple system 17 spectra HD 50846 Be star in an eclipsing system 16 spectra HD 51106 SB2 15 spectra Targets observed to prepare LRa1 : HD 49434 Gamma Dor variable 71 spectra HD 50209 Be star 68 spectra Observations for 85% of the available time. (1 full night lost due to high humidity) Observations with FOCES@CAHA (PI : P. Amado, very bad weather) and SOPHIE@OHP (PI : P. Mathias; targets HD 49434, HD 50747, HD 50846, HD 51106; only 1.5 nights lost)

  3. SPECTROSCOPIC RESULTS ON HD 50844 (DSCT, V=9.1, V sin i = 58 km/s) The spectra have been independently analyzed by Mantegazza & Rainer (Brera team) and by Zima (Leuven team). The results are very similar. …………. About 20 independent spectroscopic frequencies ……….. 5.10 CoRoT : a few similar frequencies, but not 5.10 5.26 CoRoT #10 6.92 CoRoT #1. Predominant mode. 10.21 CoRoT : 11.22, 10.26, 11.26, 13.27 (#2, #18, #3, #7) 11.64 CoRoT : 11.71 (#21) 12.16 CoRoT #25 12.24 CoRoT #5, but also 13.27 (#7) 12.85 CoRoT #4 13.16 CoRoT : 13.36 (#8) 14.32, 14.40, 14.48 CoRoT : 14.432 (#12),14.447 (#6), 14.461 (#11), 14.476 (#22) 15.22 CoRoT #50 (!!) 16.09 CoRoT : not found CoRoT #9 (11.75 c/d) has no (evident) spectroscopic counterpart

  4. ESO LARGE PROGRAMME LP 178.D-0361 Second run : June 25- July 4, 2007 Fabien Carrier July 16-21, 2007 Juan Gutierrez-Soto LRc1 target : HD 181555 Delta Sct variable 343 spectra HD 180642 Beta Cep variable 213 spectra HD 181231 Be star 72 spectra Filling programs at beginning and end of night very effective. One-shot stars (SPB, Be, HADS, Epsilon Lup,….) Observations for 96% of the available time (sometimes spectra taken through cyrrus) • Observations with FOCES@CAHA (PI : P. Amado, HD 181555 • - 285 spectra - and HD 174966 – 119 spectra). • Observations with SOPHIE@OHP (PI : P. Mathias; targets HD 181555 • 66 spectra – and HD 180642 – 36 spectra).

  5. HD 181555, FEROS observations. Spectroscopic solution (?) (Mantegazza & Rainer, internal report) Power spectrum from original data Power spectrum with 27 frequencies as known constituent Spectral window

  6. HD 181555, FEROS observations. Very fast rotator, V sin i = 177 km/s Very complicated star: how many frequencies ? (Mantegazza & Rainer, internal report) Mean rotational profile Standard deviations of original data (black line) and after removal of 27 frequencies (red line)

  7. HD 181555, FEROS observations, m values identification (Mantegazza & Rainer, internal report) Left : amplitude expressed as a fraction of the continuum intensity. Right : mode’ phases The analysis of the combined set (FEROS, FOCES, OHP) is in progress after having solved several problems (different resolution, alignments, continuum normalization,….

  8. HD 180642, Beta Cep variable. Predominant radial mode, but some nonradial modes have been suspected From ground based observations. Confirmed by CoRoT (see Briquet et al, May 30, CoI-GI meeting) Mercator and Mt. Piszkesteto curves in V light

  9. ESO LARGE PROGRAMME LP 178.D-0361 Third run : December 18-28, 2008 Anne-Laure Huat January 9-14, 2008 Pedro Amado & Dario Diaz LRa2 target : HD 49434 Gamma Dor variable 339 spectra HD 49330 Be star 127 spectra Observations for 89% of the available time (sometimes spectra taken through thin cyrrus) HD 49434 has also been observed with SOPHIE@OHP PI : P. Mathias FOCES@CAHA; PI : P. Amado HERCULES@Mt John, PI : K. Pollard and COROT …………….

  10. THE IMMEDIATE FUTURE Fourth (and last) run of the ESO Large Programme in July (observer: L. Mantegazza) and August (observer: E. Poretti). Target : HD 172189 (EA+DSCT+SB2+cluster member) HD 171834 (Gamma Dor, low amplitude, both photometric and spectroscopic) New Large Programme Proposal submitted. FEROS no more available, we requested HARPS (10+5 nights in each semester, for three ESO periods). Decision will be known end of this week. Spectroscopic observations will continue with SOPHIE, FOCES, HERCULES, …. Photometric observations will continue at Sierra Nevada and S. Pedro Martir Observatories (twin Danish uvbyBeta photometers) Very urgent : the exploitation of the CoRoT photometric timeseries

  11. Examples of 30 days (total length 58 days) of continuous monitoring of the Delta Sct star HD 50844 (IR01, V=9.1) The accuracy of a single measurement (32 sec) is around 1 mmag. Spectral window

  12. ID7528 ID7528

  13. How many frequencies in the CoRoT light curve of HD 50844? The (automatic) period search detected hundreds of frequencies. Of course, it is a problem of signal-to-noise ratio. The noise level is 0.075 mmag, i.e., 75 micromag (58 days, V=9.1) By using the usual threshold SNR > 4.0 (amplitude 0.3 mmag), we point out 57 frequencies. Possible improvements: work a little more on the de-trending and data cleanliness

  14. As in the case of Gamma Dor variables, a set of 114 candidate Delta Sct stars in the IR01 exofield have been analyzed. A list of 26 bona-fide Delta Sct variables has been issued and transmitted to CVC. They will be implemented in the new version of the classification schema. But this will be the matter of the afternoon session ….
