  6. National HERC Diversity Data Increasing the diversity of faculty and staff is of critical importance to HERC members. HERC jobseekers significantly outpace national demographic averages for faculty on both gender and ethnicity.

  7. HERC Gender Distribution Data The percentage of female HERC-wide registered users is significantly higher than the national averages as well as within the Academy.

  8. HERC Race & Ethnicity Distribution Data The percentage of minority HERC-wide registered users is significantly higher than the national averages as well as within the Academy.

New Regional HERC Development Engaging in new regional HERC development and helping existing HERC regions be successful was named the #1 strategic priority by the National HERC Advisory Board atits September 2010 meeting. North Central Texas HERC • More HERC Growth on the Horizon • There are 13 additional HERC regions considering HERC development representing an additional 16 states.

Dual-Career NewsAAUP Names HERC in Groundbreaking Partner Accommodation Report The American Association of University Professors’ (AAUP) Committee on Women in the Academic Profession released a report about dual-career hiring in September 2010 that recommends HERC: HERCs provide a variety of services for listing and sharing open positions that can be invaluable in assisting academic partners.  HERC membership costs vary by the size of the institution, making this option, where available, particularly useful for smaller institutions without the resources to establish a partner-accommodation program.
