  1. 6th Graders, Now We’re Cooking – What impresses ME most is your ability to expand big ideas and make them bigger We got ourselves a Wiki-Monster – I hope we are all ready for the next steps Who are YOU –– I’ll take Attendance! Today’s writing is going to be tied to your Language Arts work. What are the main ideas from the text or research you will be using

WHO ARE YOU? • You ARE The College Class Of 2022!!!!! • You will have jobs that do not yet exist • You will own a world that you get to build • You WILL collaborate with people all over the world – I hope this is good practice • You already know more about the world then you did a week ago. Imagine what will happen if you learn at this pace for a YEAR

Let’s continue our journey into The Amazon Rainforest • Now that you have chosen your groups: • What new facts and data do you have to help make a presentation poster demonstrating why YOU have the most legitimate claim to rainforest resources • Is there anyone you want to reach out to? • Maybe the government can help you negotiate • OK, time to write Today’s prompt. ”Wow, I never realized” Your writing must include quotes from your research or the text book

  4. This Week • How Close Are You To Being Able To: define, articulate and create icons for this chapter’s Geo-Terms • We will write every day • I LOVE BIG IDEAS…The newest one is that “what are the best ways for competing groups to join forces, align goals or compromise?”

OK, so what ARE the rules? • You will be called on pretty much every day • Always say “please” and “thank you” • I will not talk over you but will wave my hand to quiet the room • ALWAYS leave the room cleaner then you found it • I PROMISE to never give lunch detention if you promise to never earn it – so far so good • We are going to write EVERY day • There are consequences for your behavior
