December to May Playing Rules Processfor Men’s and Women’s Skiing ANNUAL MEETING The committee listed to the right meets in Indianapolis in June to discuss rules change proposals and the championships. June 12-15 June 28 to July 13 COMMENT PERIOD In late June, a list of rules change proposals approved by the committee at the annual meeting is mailed to coaches and conferencecommissioners for feedback. This two-week comment period allows the membership to see the exact language of rules changes before they are finalized. July 31 PROP APPROVAL The Playing Rules Oversight Panel (PROP) consider all of the ruleschange proposals from the committee and all comments from the. membership. PROP’s charge is to review all proposals for financial implications, safety concerns and harm to the image of the game.All items approved by PROP become the rules changes. August 2008 PLAYING RULES The listing of rules changes are mailed to each head coach in August and are available online at www.ncaa.org.
