  4. Microteaching • Practice teaching in front of peer audience • 15 min teaching; 5 minute setting the context/explaining the trajectory • Lesson Plan • Video taping and self-analysis • Foci: 1-Open, 2-Teacher directed, 3-Student focused

  5. Field Experiences • 3 week placements in local MS & HS • Work with a partner in 2 class periods • Week 1: Observe teacher; take field notes Week 2 & 3: Each partner teaches one class; Complete daily log to reflect on your own practice. **Reminder: Fingerprinting & Background check

  6. Clinical Reviews • Class discussions • Field experiences • Student teaching • Microteaching • Educating Esmé

  7. PKY Observations • September 8 • Visit PKY with a partner • Observe classes and write field notes • Arrive at the school ~15 minutes before your first scheduled class. Go to the front office to check in as a visitor. • Dress and act professionally. • See Schedule.

  8. Internship • The first week of student teaching internship begins this fall: Dec 8-12 • Student Teaching Scavenger Hunt due this semester.

  9. Assignments • For each MT • Lesson plan, teaching, reflective report • For each Field Experience • Individual: Field notes (1st week), teaching, daily logs (2nd & 3rd week) • Group: Case study
